For the first time, nine foundations – AIR FRANCE, CHANEL, ELLE, KERING, ORANGE, RAJA-Danièle Marcovici, SISLEY-D’Ornano and Solidarity AccorHotels, united to address the situation of women around the world through a major audiovisual event entitled “WE ARE WOMEN”.

Meeting women in China, Cameroon, Senegal, Nicaragua, the United States, Ethiopia, France, Cambodia and Brazil, “WE ARE WOMEN” reveals the exemplary paths these women have chosen through a series of highly intimate portraits, filmed in their homes with their loved ones and in the places that are symbolic of their actions.

The Sanofi Espoir Foundation has dedicated its short programme to Mulu Muleta, an Ethiopian gynecologist-obstetrician, who dedicated her career to treating and taking care of women and as such, she has played a major role in the development of maternal and neonatal healthcare projects in Ethiopia. Ethiopia is one of the five countries totalizing together 50% of maternal death in the world. Despite considerable efforts, the maternal mortality rate is still really high in the country.

Dr Mulu Muleta is one of the main pillars of the project led by Waha (Women and Health Alliance International) and supported by the Sanofi Espoir Foundation. Its action aim to bring a global answer: training of midwives, improvement of the care in the health centres, education and information of the communities…
