Dr Anwer Nossier, Waha obstetrician-gynaecologist attended the conference which was held on the 13th and 14th of January. He was able to meet with specialists and professors, including the secretary general of the BGICC, to see in which ways we can collaborate. This year we are planning on openning projects for the early detection and treatment of patients with cervical and breast cancer.
The goal of the BGICC is to improve the prognosis, early diagnosis and quality of life of patients affected by cancer. It is supported by international initiatives in particular the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO).
Cervical and breast cancers are the most common forms of cancer and cancer related deaths in Africa according to data from the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC).
