Last week, WAHA started working in partnership with the Nigeria National Fistula Project. In addition to enabling surgeons to be trained in fistula repair, the project will carry out an impressive 1,500 surgical operations in 2010 alone!
WAHA recently participated in the 2nd conference of the International Society of Obstetric Fistula Surgeons that took place in Nairobi, Kenya from 25 to 27 November 2009. WAHA was co-organiser and co-sponsor of the event.
On the 14 October 2009, The People Daily, a local Kenyan newspaper, published an article about the most recent fistula treatment camp that WAHA organised in Kisii District, Kenya.
WAHA International in collaboration with AMREF organised a second treatment camp in Kisii District, Kenya.

WAHA International in partnership with AMREF and the Kenyan Ministry of Health organised a surgical camp in Makueni (Kenya) to treat women with fistula and to provide training to local surgeons to carry out this type of intervention.
