Ethiopia: WAHA International deploys 26 motorcycle ambulances to improve maternal health

A newly assembled motorbike ambulance in Addis Abeba, Ethiopia.

The motorbike ambulances will help women in rural villages access health care services. They are deployed in partnership with the Federal Ministry of Health of Ethiopia.


Nigeria: National Fistula Project concludes intensive fistula training course for medical staff

22 doctors and 27 nurses were trained in the intensive obstetric fistula workshop under the direction of chief surgeon Dr Kees Waaldijk.

Sudan: 86 women with obstetric fistula treated in Dr. Abbo's National Fistula & Urogynaecology Centre

Patients coming from all over Sudan were treated from July to September 2011. The overall success rate of operations was of 86%.
