In the north-west of the country, close to the Ethiopian border, Borama Fistula Hospital serves a population of approximately 200,000 residents. The hospital has around 18 beds that can be made available for fistula patients. WAHA International has previously collaborated with Boroma Fistula Hospital to carry out operations for a series of nineteen fistula patients in August 2010.

The Boroma Fistula Hospital and WAHA International are working in partnership to implement further fistula care services in the future. The joint activities include some rehabilitation work of the hospital infrastructure as well as human resource development activities. Dr Qaws is a fistula surgeon based in the hospital who regularly collaborates with WAHA International.

In 2010, WAHA International and Boroma Fistula Hospital organised three fistula camps bringing  women from Somaliland and from Kismayo in southern Somalia. In total 69 patients were operated.
