Campaign to end fistula In 2003, UNFPA and partners launched a global Campaign to End Fistula with the goal of making obstetric fistula as rare in developing countries as it is in the industrialized world. The target date for fistula elimination is 2015, in line with MDG targets to improve maternal health.

UNFPA spearheads the global Campaign to End Fistula, a collaborative initiative to prevent this injury of childbirth and to restore the health and dignity of those who have been living with its consequences.

In 2009, WAHA became a partner of the End Fistula Campaign, enabling us to participate in the Fistula Network (http://www.fistulanetwork.org/FistulaNetwork/) in terms of sharing information with other partners who are also working in fistula prevention, treatment and social reintegration. WAHA shares the aims and vision of the End Fistula Campaign, believing that the goal of eradicating fistula will be achieved more quickly once different organisations and groups join in collaborative efforts to enhance their activities across the world.
