FIGO - International Federation of Gynaecology and ObstetricsThe International Federation of Gynaecology and Obstetrics (FIGO) is the worldwide organisation of obstetricians and gynaecologists with member associations in 124 countries/territories. Its Secretariat is based in London, the UK.

FIGO’s mission is to promote the wellbeing of women and to raise the standards of practice in obstetrics and gynaecology. FIGO is a benevolent, non-profit organisation funded through subscriptions received from member societies, grants and the proceeds of its triennial World Congress.

WAHA International and FIGO’s collaboration aims to strengthen fistula care services. Initial meetings in Dakar during the ISOFS conference demonstrated that both organisations are committed to undertaking strategic developments to fistula care in the future, notably in terms of facilitating operational research activities and improving training opportunities. Both organisations have the potential to bring expertise and widely recognised authority to the partnership, as well as practical opportunities to develop, implement and test out new tools and strategies.
